From July 17 to 21, the Xi'an Advanced Manufacturing Leadership Talent Development Program—Beijing Trip, themed "Central-Local Integrated Development to Boost Xi'an Enterprises' Participation in National Defense Science and Technology Construction," successfully concluded in Beijing. During the five-day program, 50 leading entrepreneurs from Xi'an's aerospace industry chain gathered in Beijing to learn cutting-edge concepts, strengthen collaborative exchanges, and foster mutually beneficial partnerships. By the end of the program, these business leaders returned home brimming with fresh insights, innovative mindsets, and forward-thinking ideas.
Multiple teaching methods broaden entrepreneurs' perspectives.
Over the course of a 5-day learning program, systematic lectures were delivered on topics including aerospace industry development, supply chain management, digitalization trends, critical technology innovations, and key supply chain opportunities. Experts and scholars shared insights through real-world case studies and comprehensive data, shedding light on cutting-edge technological advancements and strategic supply chain opportunities in the aerospace industry—thus broadening entrepreneurs' perspectives.
On the aerospace supply chain procurement platform and alongside leading enterprises in Beijing's aerospace industry cluster, entrepreneurs from Xi'an's advanced manufacturing sector visited companies to engage in hands-on, on-site learning. They explored the Aerospace Cloud Network and the Additive Manufacturing Technology Innovation Center of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, gaining insights into these companies' exemplary practices in advancing the aerospace industry. During private networking sessions and project pitch events, the entrepreneurs fostered internal exchanges, sharing knowledge about each other's product offerings and identifying potential areas for collaborative partnerships, thereby strengthening cross-company interactions and cooperation.
On the shores of Yanqi Lake, a collaboration and investment promotion event was held, bringing together advanced manufacturing enterprises from Xi'an and Beijing to foster complementary supply chains and key industrial partnerships. Fifty forward-thinking manufacturing entrepreneurs from Xi'an engaged in "face-to-face" discussions with nearly 40 leading companies in Beijing's aerospace industry chain. Among them, five prominent Xi'an-based firms—Western Superconducting Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Xi'an Chaojing Technology Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Hengde Precision Machinery Co., Ltd., Xi'an Hantang Analytical Testing Co., Ltd., and Xi'an Wanwei Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.—actively showcased their cutting-edge product technologies to businesses from both regions. Through these close-knit exchanges with Beijing's enterprises, the event facilitated mutual complementarity between the two cities' industries, seamless flow of resources, and collaborative innovation, ultimately driving stronger cooperative growth between companies in Xi'an and Beijing.
Entrepreneurs apply what they've learned to the development of high-end manufacturing.
“This training has helped our entrepreneurs build the strongest ‘circle of friends,’ creating a robust platform for communication and collaboration. It has significantly boosted our confidence in the future growth of our businesses, and we’ll now apply what we’ve learned to guide our companies’ practical development strategies,” Lan Mengping, legal representative and general manager of Xi’an Luoke Electronic Technology Co., Ltd., told reporters. “As a private enterprise, we are active participants, driving forces, and valuable contributors to Shaanxi Province’s economic development. Moving forward, we’ll continue to set an example by deeply investing in industry growth, staying true to our original aspirations. We’ll keep dreaming big, maintaining a vision filled with hope and determination, and ensuring that every step we take leads us firmly toward success. Above all, we’ll dedicate ourselves to running our businesses with passion, nurturing innovation in our products, and ultimately making even greater contributions to Shaanxi’s vibrant economic progress.”
“This training was exceptionally high-quality, both in terms of overall course organization and teaching excellence—it truly broadened our horizons, enabling us to view technology from a fresh perspective and introducing us to entirely new concepts. At first glance, cutting-edge, disruptive technologies may seem confined to the high-end aerospace sector. However, looking ahead, their true value lies in their eventual application to everyday consumer markets. After all, it’s these innovations that ultimately benefit society at large,” said Tong Gang, Chairman and General Manager of Xi’an Wanwei Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., speaking to reporters. “High-end manufacturing—particularly that driven by aerospace—is a vital engine propelling China’s economy toward high-quality growth, spurring rapid economic development across the board. This training has also prompted me to deeply reflect on our company’s strategic direction. Moving forward, we’ll stay focused on our core business while pursuing a transformative shift centered on ‘lightweighting’ and ‘genuine strength.’ This will enable us to embrace flexible production models and expand into advanced services like software digitalization and信息化 solutions, thereby better supporting the thriving evolution of high-end manufacturing.”
The 7th training session provides talent support for building a strong industrial city.
Advanced manufacturing is the cornerstone of the real economy. In recent years, our city has prioritized high-quality development of the manufacturing sector, leveraging intelligent manufacturing as its driving force to "strengthen, enhance, and optimize" advanced industries, thereby boosting the city’s industrial structure upgrade and fostering a transformative shift in its economic growth model. In the first half of this year, Xi'an’s industrial value-added output from enterprises above designated size grew by 9% year-on-year, surpassing both the national and provincial averages by 5.2 and 8.7 percentage points, respectively.
Entrepreneurs are the backbone of corporate innovation and the core force driving enterprises to rise. In recent years, the Xi'an Municipal Party Committee and Government have placed great emphasis on cultivating entrepreneurial talent. In 2020, our city issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Building of an Advanced Manufacturing Powerhouse City," clearly stating that the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology would allocate a special fund of 10 million yuan annually to nurture leading-edge talent. Since the launch of the "Xi'an Advanced Manufacturing Leadership Talent Cultivation Project" in July 2020, the city has successfully held seven sessions, with participants traveling to several advanced manufacturing hubs—including Suzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Qingdao, and Beijing—to engage in specialized training programs tailored to specific themes. Each session focused on critical topics such as corporate strategy, IPO financing, equity incentives, partnership mechanisms, and the "human-machine integration" model. To date, the program has trained over 450 individuals, equipping them with the innovative mindset, pioneering spirit, strategic management skills, and leadership capabilities needed to propel Xi'an's pillar industries forward. This initiative is now providing vital talent support for the city’s ambitious goal of building a robust, industry-driven economy.
